Is body size connected to inner happiness? Think again.

Before & after pictures were once my source of motivation to lose weight. Feeling low? Body dysmorphia got triggered? I would search for them & imagine a time I would be happier & skinnier.


I can now say that I absolutely HATE them. Quite contradictory given the fact that I just posted one, but I want to relay a message here.


We go to nutritionists & doctors that give everyone the same diet, make you eat less & less calories, make you feel guilty for feeling restricted, & then when all that doesn't work, they indirectly blame you for being too lazy to comply to a certain way of eating. Do they not know our bodies are more complex than that? Our weight set points are not only dictated by what we eat!


Did you know that stress leads to higher levels of cortisol (the stress hormone) that could change your fat composition???? Why are we stressing over our bodies so much then? Attaching our worth to them? Most health professionals don't tell you this.


They don't tell you that you need to be grateful for your body and what it does. They don't tell you that whether you want to gain or lose weight, it shouldn't be your purpose. Point being, I have been super reluctant to post this & send out the wrong message. I promise you though, the two Rawans in this picture are grateful for the same things, & my weight has fluctuated a lot. ๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐˜€๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ฅ๐—ฎ๐˜„๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜† ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ฝ๐—ฝ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฏ๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ด๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ฅ๐—ฎ๐˜„๐—ฎ๐—ป.


Embrace your bodies, and all that you are. Listen to them, and health will follow.


Find a nutritionist who LISTENS to you, and helps you learn how to listen to your body. Only then will you find a lifestyle that fits your needs.


I am definitely ๐—ก๐—ข๐—ง more loved or respected now, than I was back then. While I've finally found out how nutrition works for me, my ultimate goal is not just weight loss anymore
